I'm trying to pull of a B20/VTEC. If you haven't done it before it takes a while. -Tim sparq 04-21-2003, 05:30 AM D16z7? Check your engine block stamp again buddy :finger: jcrx 04-21-2003, 02:21 PM D16Z6 and no it shouldn't take long, but plan for a week, that way if something breaks,or doesn't work and you have to order it and wait you won't be screwed. Kill4A911 04-22-2003, 08:21 PM yea my bad on the code :o , thanks crxlvr 04-23-2003, 01:49 PM im doing my b16a swap at home too, i dont have much time to work on it, and i am replacing most of the parts and gaskets with new or high performance stuff, so my build has been going on for months now. Gerbilo 04-23-2003, 03:41 PM hey CRXLVR i was looking at your sig and wondering, that's the 2.4l I4 in your accord right? crxlvr 04-24-2003, 05:52 PM yea, its not bad for a 4cyl Mean_B16 05-05-2003, 02:06 PM Originally posted by Kill4A911 i really like my civic but the D16Z7 just isnt doing it for me. ive done alot of research on B series swaps and have a helms manual and all the tools i need (i would rent the engine lift), do you guys think someone with moderate automotive knowledge could do this swap or should i drop the 600$ to have a shop do it  Just take your time and pay attention, this is the same way i did my swap and it went fine (it just took a few weeks of ordering parts once I started the swap, I did not realize everything I needed until the motor was out of the car:( ) if you have ALL the parts you need you should be able to have the motor in within a day or two (Making it run could be a different story but it should start right up) as far as an engine lift I used a lift and dropped the motor out the bottom which is SOOOO much easier than using a hoist. sexiersarn 05-10-2003, 04:00 AM I didn't know jack about my car. But i got it in and it runs great. Just make sure you have a checklist and before you start you have EVERYTHING. It took me about a week by myself and about 3 or 4 hours a day. SiRII 05-10-2003, 04:03 AM i've supped up lots of d16z6's and blown every single one of them. a total of 6. i wasted money getting it over and over again. i finally said screw that, i'm going with a b16a sir2 motor. it is well worth it vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
