Problem With temperature gauge

I have a 2002 Camaro with a 3800 V6 in it and the temperature gauge quit working on it. Now when the engine starts the coolant fans come on. It has made the check engine light come on. I have replaced the coolant temperature sensor and even went as far as replacing the connector going to it and the wires going to the computer and the sensor ground. Could I have a bad computer or am I just overlooking something? Please help because I am out of options and thinking about taking it to a mechanic!!!

Take your car in and have the trouble codes checked, many shops will pull the codes for free... If the computer is bad, they will be able to tell you on the spot.
Does anyone know if there is a relay that supplies power to the actual sensor? Im guessing the sensor isn’t being given a chance to take a reading and that is who your gauge isn’t giving you a reading.
