The new 626 is a looker. It is not that fast it will sell well. Mazda had to do something with the emergence of the Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry and it looks like they have succeded. :)

Shame its only a 4cyl car.
(however the old model had a limited avliablity V6 option here and in Japan, so that may come later with the new car)

Moppie is right that Mazda 626 will be known as Mazda 6 now.

It ultilizes a newly design 2.3l i4.
The V6 option will be 3.0l engine share with Tarus.

It's 180hp for the standard version if I remember correctly.

The horepower for the I4 2.3L is 160 @ 6000 RPM and the the 3.0L V-6 is rated at 220 @ 6300 RPM. Also note the redline is 6500 RPM, so you will need to rev these engines. please visit this link for more information.
