i have once heard that sport/expresso neons had a very low boost stock turbo. just wondering if there is any truth to this rumor? thx, big red

No Neon besides the brand new SRT-4 comes from the factory with forced induction. If you asking if the stock internals can only handle low boost, then yes, they can only handle about 6PSI on the stock internals.

Not bashing 6 pounds but I have hurd of people running 14 psi on stock internals safely and there still going. True 6 psi does sound safe on a stock engine.

14 PSI on the Neon's stock interanls would tear the engine apart if you ever push the car past the 8-10 PSI mark. The SRT-4 can handle 14 PSI on the stock internals. While the Neon's 2.0L engine can handle 14 PSI on the stock block, but not internals. You will have to replace them. 6 PSI is about what most stock engines can take safely.
