three problems happened !!!!

i got a 98 olds intrigue base with 3.8L ,here is the lists of problems,hoping someone could know the answer.

1. When i hit the break and start the car,nothing wrong with it ,but when i release the break pedal(engine running) ,the ABS and break light on.i think it's faulty codes. The lights won't present when key ON engine OFF. Any idea ???

2. I feel the steering wheel was "clicking" when i was driving, and trying to turn the power steering wheel ,either to left or right.

3. The blower motor making noise ,when i turn the steering wheel to left ,ONLY left.

4. What is the top speed of intrigue Base ???

5. the gas pedal moving around, i looked up and i found there should have a pin or something to hold the gas pedal ,does it ? if does,where can i buy this little thing ?(must online)

1) Do the lights stay on I assume? What happens when you start the car without touching the brake? The ABS codes usually dont present with the key just ON if I remember right. They are stored, but I dont believe the light comes on unless you have a failure at the startup. Does the Trac Off light come on as well?

2) These cars have whats known as an intermediate steering shaft that gets dried out and can make a sound like youre describing. If you search for it you should probably find lots of information. For me, I just took a can of white lithium grease, crawled under the dash, pulled back the material around where the steering shaft exits and sprayed everything i could find, seemed to make my noises go away. If all else fails, turn up the radio, thats what I do on my Jeep haha.

3) Thats just straight up weird. What kind of noise? Like a change in speed?

4) Should be electronically governed around 112mph, depending on the tires it came with from the factory. Most of them seem to be governed right around there, as are most GM sedans. There are places you can get your PCM tweaked to have it removed. But, as for me, at the ripe old age of 22, Im starting to see that thats really fast enough, and the adrenaline high is simply not worth getting yourself, or worse yet someone else killed. These cars feel like tanks sometimes, but I assure you, an accident even at 112 would almost certainly kill you, thats something to think long and hard about. But if youre just headed to the drag strip once in a while, you can remove it.

5) Im not sure how big this pin is, but you might be able to get a small nut/bolt and stick in there. Or even a cotter pin if its the right size, and they make some pretty big cotter pins. Id just experiment with something locally, might find what you need at a junkyard. The actual part, ordered and shipped to your door will probably be impossible to find, and ridiculously expensive.

1 .the lights won't come on when i start the car without touching the break and i'm sure there is no problem with traction control,sometimes the lights just on when i turn the steering wheel or hit the break.that's weird !! i use my scan tool checked it ,there were two codes came up : C1236 and C1286 .

3.the sounds will come up only turning to left suddenly at any speed.

C1236 is Low System Supply Voltage

C1286 is Steering Sensor Bias Malfunction

I have no idea what they mean. I tried looking for some causes I got nothing.

I guess C1236 could be your speed sensors. All i was able to find was Speed sensor malfunction. Try to Clean them or better replace them. The code should reset itself. My 99 Intrigue had the same problem years back with the ABS light. I didnt know they spit off a code though. So i checked everything out only had to clean the speed sensor and everything went away. I dont know why the ABS light would come on for a speed sensor though.

Also I had the same thing happen to the 99 intrigue when I would turn it would make that clicking noise. Mine was the sway bar snapped on the left side it had been broken for over a year unnoticed until I did the front struts. Sturtes and sway bar replaced and the noise went away.

okay another post with more info...supposedly if you are getttng C1286 it means you have a C1246. Yes a code for a code...

EBCM/EBTCM Red Brake Warning Indicator On. This code sets because you have C1246. Fix the C1246 and that should be fixed.

Rear ABS Channel Will Not Move. This code sets when certain signals to the rear ABS channel are malfunctioning. It could be the ABS Motor Pack or the EBCM/EBTCM module.
