98 Mountaineer voltage problems.

I have a '98 Mountainer with voltage problems. The temp. and oil pres. gauge are reading high and hot while the voltage gauge is reading low. Also the headlamps and dash lights are dim and the wipers run slow. I've already replaced the alternator and pigtail and problem persists. Any suggestions out there?

Welcome to the forum!

Have you placed a voltmeter on the battery to see what the battery voltage is when the engine is running? You'll also want to place the meter on the battery cables to see what's at the cables just in case it's not all making it from the cable to the battery. You would also then check the voltage at the main fuse/relay block, and on down the line until you find the dirty connection. If you are aware of any body repair that's been performed in the front end you might focus some inspection there as well to see if a wiring harness was repaired which might not have been sealed up well enough. There's not a lot of troubleshooting that you're going to be able to perform without a voltmeter on this one.
