Random Stalling & random lurch/miss

I have an 02 intrigue that has been randomly stalling at idle. and has what feels like a really bad miss usually around 50mph. This miss is more like a lurch feels like the car stalls briefly then goes again its a quick jerk... hard to explain.

The car has new tranny fluid in it the MAF has been recently cleaned. It was in the shop and they thought the stalling could be related to the idle control motor... the car is throwing codes for the crank sensor and a secondary air injection code.

Do you think the crank sensor could be causing this. the car starts up first crank 90% of the time after a stall.

any help would be appreciated before i start throwing parts at this thing.

Crank sensor is almost certainly the cause especially since its throwing a code.

If you can change it yourself its not too bad of a project from what I hear.

I'd take the air injection issue into your own hands as well as far as the repairs go. First check the relay under the hood in the small fuse box under the hood next to the larger one. Then reset the code if it comes back on check the one located on the back of the engine. I guess it's only accessable if the car is lifted not positive. Then check the pump, diverters and other wiring and hoses just follow all of them from the air inj. pump. Just figured I'd throw this out there I dumped about 2k into a SAIR issue. Parts were replaced that did not need to be replaced and turns out it was just a relay and a hose with water in it. The shield over the pump had failed causing the pump to suck in water and blew the relay on the back of the engine. The water did not damage the pump even though the shop had sworn it was seized, so I requested the old pump be returned to me and turns out it was not seized. I guess there are several things in this system that can be overlooked several times if not taken to a reputable repair shop. Mine was in the shop SEVERAL times for it. Then thanks to this forum I found out and later regreted not doing all of it myself.:smokin:

What about the throttle position sensor? My daughters cavalier as doing this same thing, replaced the TPS and problem all gone.
