Ok so i just bought a 98 ssei and love it, upon inspection of this car i knoticed the tranny fluid to be terribly dark!!!! I almost didnt even take the car for a test drive after knoticing this but i did and i couldnt believe how smooth it shifted.Anyways i bought the car and it truly drives like new i have been told that flushing the tranny could be bad for it so should i just change the fluid and filter?? By the way i was planning on running lucas in the motor and tranny as i have in my gtp, any opinions on that?? This tranny has a whopping 198,000 miles on it and still shifts smooooooth!!! performance shift works works flawlessly, all good. thanks for any input!!!

Drop the pan, replace the filter and fluid to Dex 6... Don't flush it at this point..

How dark is dark? Brown or Black?

You must be looking at Bank 1 sensor 1...? If so this is the sensor in the rear manifold.. Check and make sure your fuel pressure and MAF are within spec, as well look at the swing from the O2 and the crosscurrents..

For the trans simply do that Fluid and filter change, should help the trans live longer..:)
