i have a stock 97 1500 z71 silverado with a 350 vortec. ok... so the heater hose that goes from the fire wall to the intake manifold busted loose at the quick connect coupling. i swapped it out for a brass nipple and figured i'ld run a regular hose. couple buddies say this will blow the heater core one after another. is this true? doesn't really make sense to me why it would... could some body please explain? thanks

if you used a generic non OEM heater hose this should work ..

the heater core gets damaged with coolant neglect...

yea didn't make sense to me but supposedly one of them went thru 7 in one month due to changing the pressure hose out to a brass nipple in the intake with a regular hose ans clamp... so yall are sure thats b.s.? lol thanks for the responses guys

the only other item to blow out the heater core/ radiator is the coolant pressure cap..this should be 15psi...max....

aftermarket caps of higher than 15 psi would cause damage...seen this before..better to use 14 psi than go higher than 15psi if neceassary.
