'05 4wd switch back lighting

I have no back lighting on my '05 Silverado 4wd switch. The little dots in the buttons light up but I tried to hit the 4wd auto button and couldn't see when it was dark out. Months ago it was having some problems and I removed it from the dash and re-soldered the connections and then it worked 100%...but now this lighting problem. How do I fix it?
Thanks,
Sonny01

I would re-solder this again using a clean soldering iron with a good light and magnifing glass ..then try out ...use a small fine steel brush to clean the solder pins before soldering..check all connectors..

I took the unit apart and the top bulb is burned out...any idea where I could get another one or even a voltage for it or a part number?

I would measure the voltage then go to radio shack and get the same bulb using the voltage you measured to be sure it is the same..

should be 12volts or 8volts..post back what voltage you got.

Well shucks...I tried to get to the back of the circuit board to measure the voltage by releasing the three plastic clips but it looks like the solder connections are holding it in place. At first I thought the bulb was in a socket and tried to pull it out but I just ended up breaking the blue neck of it which didn't hurt anything...
Any ideas?

go to the dealership and buy a new switch assy..not to expensive.
