on many models the take dexcool (pink gm coolant) the coolant gums up the heater core and can often be resolved by flush/back flushed the core from the heater hoses

i already flushed it. so i went buy one and i took off what i thought was all the bolts for it but it wont come out. so im asking how to you take it out. and also how to you take off handle off the airbag. i took off the clips but the handle wont come off.

the only time you replace this is IF it is leaking .......................
if it is not leaking and you have NO HEAT this may mean if it is noT plugged ,,,,,that the temperture control motor/damper door is stuck/defective ...this is a common problem when the cabin air duct filter is not installed...

If you are not busy and want a nice puzzle to do replacing the heater core means removal of the entire dash among other things......

NOT AN EASY REPAIR...NOT FOR THE NOVICE...
