Hi. I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500. When I drive it I hear a ticking noise, coming not from the motor but more from under the truck towards the back (under the bed). Any guesses as to what this could be? I am hoping to fix it myself rather than send it in to the dealer. Thanks in advance!

Ok, here's my guess. U-joints. I have a 2000 also and just last week wore out the last one. It was more of a squeak though. 2nd guess would be brakes.

when moving your hearing a ticking sound may be a nail/rock in the tire treads...
the U joints could be making this sound..jack up BOTH rear wheels . block the front wheels. place in neutral and slowly rotate rear wheels and check all this out...possible rear dif issues as well.
