Tranny 2nd gear...... now tranny wont wrk at all

ok for the past couple of days trans wouldn't even go in second gear. i would have to wait until it shifted in third.

last night i was pulling in a parking lot, i coasted in. then began to get on the gas to try to go, and the truck didnt do anything. put it in first pressed the gas still nothing. i stopped and tried all gears...... nothing.

i checked the fluid, and it wasn't burnt or looked dark. however i was bout a quart to full. i disconnected the trans cooling lines and nothing was shooting out.

could it be a solenoid??

No its not a solenoid if there is a no move condition. If what you are saying is correct it seems like your pump failed or your filter is completely plugged.

i was thinking pump too. i just don't understand why 2nd gear would go out only for a couple of days. then nothing else works couple days after

the transmission will need be removed and completely inspected. if you have not regularly changed the fluid/filter best get a new onetransmission.

make sure the transmission fluid cooling lines/radiator are properly cleaned out first.
