Fuel Line Problem
gregc 04-08-2003, 04:48 AM During an oil change on my 89 Civic it was discovered that the gas line was leaking slightly where it enters the interior (due to rust). The shop says it will cost $400 to replace it. Is there another alternative. The shop would not replace it with rubber hose because of the danger of it rupturing under pressure. Is there a high pressure hose that would be safe? Any other suggestions. Thanks for your help. Civic Jim 04-08-2003, 04:50 AM Unless you have a mate who could do it cheaper I would pay it, you cant be too sure when it comes to safety, fiercecivic 04-08-2003, 05:57 AM mines leaking in the exact same spot, but im not gonna worry bout it too much cause it only leaks a little when i fill up. FourthGenHatch 04-08-2003, 06:41 AM Whats the stock hose made of? Not rubber? Jmunk 04-08-2003, 09:07 AM The fuel line is bacically the same as brake line, a thin metal line. FourthGenHatch 04-08-2003, 10:32 AM Oh. Well why not buy a new Honda one and attempt to do the amazing bitch of a task of installing that thing. AutomotiveHelper.com, Copyright ©2013
