to spoil or not to spoilstanner 04-08-2003, 03:18 AM ok so 1990 coupe with silvia front end conversion leave it with out a spoiler or put a spoiler on it. if you say put one on are there any models that you would recomend. nothing flashy or more than 3 inches high looks are almost as important as performance. I just want to keep my rear tires on the ground at high speeds (triple digit speeds). ghostchild316 04-08-2003, 04:01 PM What about the kouki type X spoiler? stanner 04-08-2003, 05:05 PM I have never heard of it but I will take a look and see what I can find. do you have any pics of 240's with this spoiler? ghostchild316 04-08-2003, 06:49 PM www.autoimaging.com has them here goes a pic of the spoiler on a 180sx yeah yeah it says SS on the tags:finger4: SR20DETpower 04-08-2003, 07:59 PM bomex wangan stanner 04-08-2003, 08:25 PM the type x looks awesome for a fastback but I don't think it would work with a coupe. sorry but like I said I really know very little about spoilers so bomex wanagan? I am guessing bomex is a brand and wanagan is a style!? ghostchild316 04-09-2003, 07:15 PM I saw a coupe on the net with the type x wing IMO I thought it looked good but it's your car... SR20DETpower 04-11-2003, 07:23 AM I like the Type X wing too......and I also like the Wangan wing from Bomex even though its 120$ more. But im more into top speed racing, I will probably even get 4:11 gears and when I turbo it see if I can get the fastest 240 in the states, I think someone has done around 185mph, and that was on KAT with a T3/T4. So im more into the Wangan styling and function......also the PDM car has the bomex wangan wing  Im crazy like that here the Bomex Wangan wing... I eventually plan on getting that entire body kit that is on that car. http://www.bomexaero.com/images1/s13/ad006hb.jpg http://www.bomexaero.com/images1/s13/ad399hb.jpg stanner 04-11-2003, 10:23 AM how does the bomex wing compare areodynamically between the coupe and the fastback? TatII 04-12-2003, 12:11 AM no clue. ghostchild316 04-12-2003, 12:25 AM 4.11?If I'm correct...wont that give better accelaration and a lower top speed? SR20DETpower 04-12-2003, 06:21 AM no those are high gears, 3:83 and 3:11's are examples of more acceleration based ratios. stanner 04-12-2003, 12:00 PM just because I have never really thought about it or researched it how much does it ususally cost to get new gear sets for a 240. as the only thing I have ever regeared was an old motorcycle. SR20DETpower 04-12-2003, 12:38 PM most people switch to lower gears for better acceleration..... All depends on what you want to do for your vehicle. Some like auto crossing, drag racing, track racing, drifting........ about all of those useages would recquire you to get lower(more accleration) gear sets. What I would like to do most in my car is top speed runs, thats what gets me going hehe. So build your car as to what you want to do with it, that way you like it more, not to how someone else's car is.(And that statement goes out to the SR ShittyStreet kiddies in particular lol) Dorikin 04-12-2003, 01:22 PM :D That statement made my day ghostchild316 04-13-2003, 02:51 PM I could have sworn it was the other way around  SR20DETpower 04-13-2003, 03:22 PM LMFAO ok ok maybe it is when I think about it......that was idiotic of me. I know of about 3 aftermarket rear end sizes that are common and I get them all screwed up to which is what..... specially after I been out all night. Its not a part I plan on buying in the next year or two. Im more then happy working on maxing out the stock one, rather spend the money on something else short term speaking. :sun: :sun: and when u swap in lsd's u can just get a factory one that works for us and is cheaper. Some also get 300zx lsd's to fit from z32's. These have a slightly different gear ratio then the 240sx ones. When you install them you can buy a different gear to put in the housing for more money if you want... stock ones are very acceptable though. I never really studied on gears... I think those are mods to do when your engine is maxed out and you still need to go faster. I know intakes and exhausts though =) You can always do it as a first mod even to get it a little faster....but Id rather spend the money to get more HP. slydar 04-26-2003, 10:06 AM that bomex wing is an absolute dunga. if you get a wing at all, make sure its not some moulded blob of crap that doesnt do anything. get some proper aero type one, from C-west, or signal.. stuff like that is super expensive though, so i say just skip it. Dorikin 04-26-2003, 10:28 AM Bomex Wangans/molded blobs are awesome A full Carbon Fiber CWEST wing looks like garbage and can cost upto a 1000 bucks. Theyre only functional on super-high powered cars....if you had around 600hp id reccomend one. Just get a wing that you like, simple as that. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
