Anyone replaced their radio without buying the $100 or higher special wiring adapter?
Just curious if I can get by without it and just get the pin outs.

thank in advance

in this late model vehicle does the radio also work as a diagnostic/info componet..if so I would not remove it but , install separately a vehicle sound system...this will work better, easier ..what is the issue with the supplied radio ..?

My vehicle is a fleet company vehicle and does not have a CD or AUX input on it. I would like to just replace the radio with aftermarcket to get the AUX input for an mp3 or my XM radio plug in.

All of the info for the DIC is on the dash where the mileage is. but I heard the warning chimes and other stuff runs through the radio but no one can tell me if it is necessary to have the wiring harness.

if the warning chimes etc run through the radio this I believe is not gonna be done..

I would call up crutchfield and ask the experts and get prices on what your looking for...

if this is impossible using an IPOD with a fm transmitter you will be able to hear gig's of your music with little hassle/cost.

THATS WHAT i DID.
