I know I have seen a bunch of posts on here about the keyless entry but I didnt see any for the 02 Intrigue.I just ordered a keyless remote for my car and I know the older intrigues like 99 have a do it yourself programing for the remote. I heard that the newer intrigues dont have that option but I know all Intrigues come with the keyless entry system.

I'm going to go through the steps it's been a while since I replaced the remotes on the 99 so could sombody tell me if it is the same way on the 02 3.5 L?

1.) Push and hold the door lock switch to unlock
2.) Insert the key twice and on the third insert leave the key in the ignition until you hear some chimes.
3.) Let go of the unlock switch
4.) Press the lock and unlock buttons on each of the remotes one at a time that are being programmed including the old ones. hear some more chimes for each remote meaning they are programmed.
5.) pull the key out.

Basically I just need to know if that procedure will work on the 02 Intrigue Because, I am not about to pay anty dealer $200.00 just to program it. Thenand another 60.00 for a remote. Also on ebay I saw some of the switch blade ignition keys. I was thinking about getting one of those cause they are cool and more conveniant(for those who carry only a car key and remote on their keychains) and I hate having my keys in my pocket. But dont know how they would look sticking so far out of the ignition and I dont want to hit it by accident and break they key off.

Yes the 2002 remotes off fleabay can be programmed with a procedure like what you mentioned. I've done it. I can't verify that it's specifically the same steps as the 99, but off the top of my head it seems about right.

I know I matched the part numbers on the back of the remote before ordering off an auction. I don't know if the switchblade type keys would have the same circuitry needed for the intrigue.

The 2000 Intrigue we've got does have a different remote than the 2002, and the circuitry between them is different. I couldn't get the 2000 remote to sync with the 2002 car according to the procedure..

Yea the switch blade keys are cool but I did some reading they have to be taken to a dealership to have the chip inside of them programmed to work with the car. Also the 01-02 have the newer style remotes. I'm pretty sure the 98-00 are the same type. I just got new remotes from the junk yard for my 99 Intrigue and they were from a 98 so I'd Imagine they are Interchangeable for 98-00. I would get the switch blade but I hate going to the dealership, also I'm sure it would be costly to have them cut and program the key/chip. I can do the remote entry programming part myself it's just those 2 parts I cant. I'm just trying to get the stuff that's bad now fixed not trying to have the dealer find more during they're complimentary vehicle Inspection...lol...

Yes, 98-00 are the same remote

FCC: ABO0204T / Part # 10246215

01-02 are a newer style remote:

FCC: L2C0007T / Part # 10335582-88 or 9364556-4575 (either one will work)
