When I first start my 2000 Ranger I have to keep my foot on the gas pedal to keep it from stalling. After a bit it revs up tp about 1600 rpms and then it is fine until I have to start again. That is if it sits for a few hours.
Any Ideas?

Sounds like you might be having a problem with the Idle Air Control valve. They are a common problem with Fords. Fairly inexpensive and easily replaced.
