Oldsmobile Intigue/Aurora 3.5 LX5 Shortstar Chip,ECM,PCM,ECU Custom Tune

I was checking again after a long time to see if anyone offered tuning support for the LX5 3.5L. I remember people getting these pcm's tuned for off road buggy’s but that canceled out all emissions and I don’t know who they were. So far this place seems like they can do a custom tune for the street. I haven't called them yet but just giving you guys a heads up!

They are located in Texas and are called ExaTorq Tuning and Performance. Check it out

What I believe should be taken care of: 40mph WOT, Torque management, Top speed limiter, Rev limiter in park or in neutral, new 6800rpm redline limit if safe, Octane tune 91 or 93 if it’s really 93octane that you get? With bolt ons mentioned I have a CAI done, need high flow cat with u-bend delete, I think this engine can net close to 250hp.

Look at the old 99-04 Chrysler 300M's they have SOHC 3.5L V-6's but make over 250hp & TQ.http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezflow_site/storage/original/application/e31cd8bab01a615c1012598ff7c152f2.pdf (http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezflow_site/storage/original/application/e31cd8bab01a615c1012598ff7c152f2.pdf)

Dizzle-- Very interesting information. I think the programming of the LX5 is more similar to the 3800 than most people and tuners realize. I picked up a computer scan tool made by carcode off of fleabay. While the tool isn't specifically mentioned to support the PCM data of LX5 engines it does work, if you tell the tool that it's a L36 3800 V6. I understand this is just data recording and code reading, and your looking for programming changes.

I mention this, because I believe that the programming of the LX5 is really similar to the 3800's as far as structure. The problem is a lot of tuners don't see a market for it.

You might find it interesting to be able to pull the engine management data if you decide to get a custom tune. This program downloads over 180 data points from the LX5 using the database for the 3800's. It could be a street baseline to compare against.

I have no affiliation with this tool, but it's nice to see something priced right that reads codes from PCM's, BCM's, ABS, as well as so much enhanced data information.

If there's anyone that's interested in taking a look at the file from a LX5 send me a PM

That site supposedly offers support for it as well. I agree though, the 3.5 is probably capable of a lot more than it puts out now. But I kinda lost interest in modding mine. Moreso lost budget/time/etc. Plus its got over 170k on it, time to start takin it easy on her:)

Let us know how it turns out though.
