Watch your odometer if you disconnect the battery!

I just disconnected my battery and after I reconnected it, I turned the key to "on" and noticed the odometer ticking away miles as if they were seconds! At first I thought it was some kind of code, but as soon as I realized what was happening I immediately hit the trip reset button and it stopped. I put 6 miles on my intrigue by just sitting in the driveway.

Don't know if this was just a fluke, but heads up. It would be very hard to eventually sell this car if it has a million imaginary miles on it...

This happened to me once I did the same thing. I remembered the mileage and didn't go anywhere. I then noticed it counting up 1 mile every second like a timer but I think the 1/10th mile count was racing up. The odometer had 3 extra miles on and counting. So I turned the key back off and on again and it had added 5 miles in total. This sounds rare but this really happened it looked like an illusion at first, it never happened again and I don’t know how or what I was doing exactly.

Glad to know I'm not the only one! I haven't been able to reproduce it either, but I'm still paranoid now.

Our cars arent worth crap anyway, why even bother selling them haha.

With 170k in fair condition blue book on my car is like 1500. If it was a Toyota Camry it would more be like 3500.

Drive it till the wheels fall off!
