:screwy:Whenever I'm cleaning or working in side the cab I hear static in the speakers of my 1999 Ranger XLT. Even without the key in the ignition and the stereo off. Any ideas how this could be happening?

There may be a broadcasting tower and cell tower close to where you live. That, or there is a high voltage power line causing electromagnetic static through your speaker wires.
My sound system in my Escort picks up a CB signal if I am right next to an 18 wheeler broadcasting on the side band.

Thank you for your reply Dave, but there isn't any towers within miles of my driveway. Neither is there any high tension lines nearby. Even so, it would seem that power are to be going thru the sound system into the speakers, but the only time I hear the static is when there isn't any power turned on to the system.
