Cab bolt size

I'm installing bolt-on steps on my 2009 1500 Crew Cab and want to be sure I'm using the right size socket before I start. It seems to be 7/8 but I wanted to be sure Chevy didn't use metric sizes and it's actually 22MM.

whenever I plan on using high torque values,,I use the 6point sockets,,this will ensure you don't damage the bolt heads..

I tis probally Metric.GM uses 8mm,10mm,13mm,15mm,18mm,21mm and 24mm for lot of the metric socket sizes
