odd 2002 ranger clutch problemlastrock 09-13-2009, 09:52 PM Hi I'm new to the forum. My problem is that the clutch works opposite from the way it is supposed to work. With the clutch out it will shift into gear but will not engage unless you push the clutch in. it is entirely opposite. As far as I know it has not had any previous work. But am not 100% sure about that. :confused:Any ideas? I bought the truck knowing the clutch had a problem. oscar89 09-14-2009, 10:35 AM I would sugest that you take apart the clutch/disc assemble and inspect it, because that is not normal. lastrock 09-17-2009, 11:20 PM Yah its probably going to end up at that. But I thought maybe someone else came across this type of problem and could give some simpler advice. Davescort97 09-18-2009, 04:44 AM The clutch release bearing and the pressure plate must have been put in backwards if such a thing is possible. Let us know how this comes out. I've never heard of such a thing. oscar89 09-21-2009, 01:53 AM Or they most've put a pull type pressure plate. Because this types of plates work in the oposite maner of a normal one. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
