So i've noticed that im wearing out my cluth a lot more often than other people. Some are saying its the way I brake to a full stop.

I was taught to dump the clutch, press the breaks, come to a stop and still hold the clutch pedal down while stopped.

Someone told me that method wears out the clutch and i should put it into neutral when I want to break.

My question is what exactly should I be doing to break and not wear my clutch out faster than usual? What if I only want to slow down a ilttle bit and not come to a stop?

Basically any information involing a manual transmition and breaking would be helpful

Cheers

the way you're driving is'nt wearing down the clutch if anything you're wearing down the pressure plate & bearing.you could put it in neutral & release pedal when coming to a stop or just down shift if not completely stopping

Okay thats helpful, so my clutch problems arent from braking.

No, that can wear the bearing faster, but not the clutch plate. Its most likely you havent learned the ideal way to drive a standard shift car.
