The battery is good, as are all fuses. All electrical accessories work normally, but the engine doesn't crank at all. I don't hear any starter solenoid sounds either.

Is security light on for 5 seconds then off? or does it flash?

When the ignition is at "ON" all the lights come on for about 5 secs, them they all go off except security and check engine. If you turn the key all the way to crank the engine, and release it, the security light goes off. The check engine light has been on since I puchased the vehicle 4 years ago. It's a secondary, or downstream o2 sensor I believe. The car has 168000 miles on it. When the ignition is being cranked (attempted) the battery voltage drops from 12.8 to 12.4, like there's not much of a load being applied to it. I swapped out bothe the crank and starter relays with the cooling fan relays since they were the same part #. I haven't looked at the voltage being applied to the starter yet, since it's still in my local gyms parking lot. It did crank slow one time the same day before this happened. I put in a new ignition switch 3 years ago, but that gave different symptoms than this.

Vroom is always so much better than click:) Glad you got it fixed. Goes to show these things arent always ignition switch problems.
