advice on my cracked interior door?my94baby 08-28-2009, 09:46 PM Hi people! My 94 twin cam driver-side door is a little bit cracked along the interior window edge, and also the whole interior panel has come loose a little bit, at the upper left (if you're looking at the door from inside the car). I don't know which happened first. Two questions: 1) is this a big problem that's going to get worse? I am very broke (just paid over 500 for new struts and front tires), and I've already tried to just ram the panel back in there. It stays for a little bit, and then pops out again. Maybe one of those plastic screws broke? I am not car-handy in any way shape or form, I'm afraid. Or can I safely ignore this for a while until things get better? 2) In the meantime, what do I do about washing it? Even before the panel came loose, the last time I washed it, the door lock started to spontaneously lock and unlock while I was driving, which I attribute to some water having gotten in there somehow (but it was pretty scary at the time). It hasn't happened again (and I haven't washed it since, and it's filthy). I always make sure to shut my windows before I wash, so I don't know how the water gets in anyway. Should I just try that waterless eco-stuff? Or just be careful not to get water on that part of the car? Your advice is appreciated! nmikmik 08-31-2009, 09:46 AM 1. Post some picks - it should help us see what could be your problem 2. Call you local pull-your-own junk yards and ask how much will new panel cost 3. If you must wash your car (some say is overrated) :screwy: - disconnect your battery, cover your lock(s) with some plastic and tape, wash the car by hand and let it dry first before reconnecting the battery. It should work & oh yea, we're probably all in some stage of been broke otherwise we'd be driving something else and have a personal mechanic and detailer take care of your transportation  vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
