1999 oil in spark plugssoccorjimmy 08-09-2009, 12:04 PM WHen I removed the caps for the plugs there is oil in there. I know that is bad but what is wrong. Thanks JIMMY lord Kelvin 08-09-2009, 05:04 PM You have the 2.5L-V6. Each valve cover has three 0-ring type gaskets for the spark-plug tubes. Yours are leaking just a bit as are mine. You can replace them, or once a year just remove the spark plug wires and clean out the oil as I do. I put a rag over the hole and use compressed air to blow the oil out. Works like a champ. TheBobsHere 08-09-2009, 05:12 PM I'd just replace the valve cover gaskets/seals. They sell them in kits available at your local auto parts store. bigmack62 08-13-2009, 08:39 PM The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Car wouldn't start. Had it towed to the mechanic. I had oil in my sparkplugs, it had fouled the distributor. I would suggest getting the plugs and wires changed along with the valve cover gaskets. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
