follow up question to warm starting-heat shieldange5 08-02-2009, 11:08 PM Does anyone think my earlier post related to warm starts after sitting can caused by the lack of a heat sheild under the carb? In hot weather i know there is a lot of heat that warms the carb after sitting for a while. Anyone else had this problem? airbornevet 08-14-2009, 02:50 PM I have had the same problem in the past. I have a weber carb setup and pacesetter header. The heat from the header would cause vapor lock in hot weather if the car sat at idle for too long. I bought header insulation and wrapped the header. Solved my problem. ange5 08-15-2009, 11:24 PM thanks I think Im going to try this. ange5 08-15-2009, 11:42 PM by the way where did you get your insulation? airbornevet 08-17-2009, 11:21 AM Ordered from Summit Racing. aldow3 08-31-2009, 08:38 PM Hello, I have a hard start problem warm after about a hour of driving my 76 mgb roadster. It has a new webber 32/36 dgev carb electric choke works fine opens fully when warm. I notice very hot around carb manifold area and I installed header wrap and heat shield my own desighn. Timing set at 13degrees 1500 rpm vacuum line disconnected. Also new pertronics Dist, coil, wires and new plugs. Could I have a fuel boiling problem if so ,can I adjust float level to correct it? Any help would greatly be appreciated. thanks, aldow3 wielgatjm3@aol.com vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
