I just bought a 350 crate motor for my 1990 Silverado. I installed he new oil pump and used a drill to prime it. After several minutes of spining, i finally got the left bank to start oiling the rocker arms. The right bank never produced a drop to the rocker arms. Is it possible that an oil passage on the right side is stopped up? Any suggestions?

I am using a screwdriver that I cut off and modified with a sleeve on it to keep it on the oil pump shaft. I put it in a drill and have spun it for several minutes at a time.

You need to use a special tool that has a bushing that mimics a real dist. This directs oil to the lifter valley.

You might be able to rent one at an auto parts store or tool rental yard.
