1993 SL2. 300,000 + miles. original engine, manual trans, clutch etc. runs like a top. burns NO oil (i know, almost unbelievable). no torn boots or leaks...extremely nice shape as far as the drivetrain goes. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS...at highway speeds (55mph-60mph) i sometimes hear a clunk/pop and i can feel the car ever so slightly seize up for a milisecond. the feeling is very minor but the sound is pretty audible. everything seems tight. trans fluid is full and clean. I rarely drive the car hard, however i noticed that when i do, the sound is heard probably every mile or so. When driven normally, im lucky to hear it once every 2-4 months. Im worried it may be the diff pin coming loose. the engine and trans have sentimental value to me for surviving so long and running so well, id hate to swap out the tranny for a junkyard one...im hoping its something not so major...ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE BEFORE? axle or hub assembly??? please steer me in the right direction if you have any advice. thanks, Anthony:banghead:
