I need to overhaul my Ford Ranger 2.3L 1994 4x2 engine, but I went to the store and bought a new pisnton set at .020 as per mechanics recommendation, but the new set of pistons are shorter in height than the original/standart pistons removed from the engine.
the engine block was rectified by shop to .020 due to cylinder damage.
Why the new set of pistons are shorter than the old ones?:runaround:

You will need to have the shop install the pistons. I would buy them from the shop and return the other ones. Is the skirts shorter or shorter from the pin that connects to the piston rod.
