Hello,
2000 expo here, 5.4L, Eddie Bauer, 4d model. I plan to do a little towing. I need to make a call to the dealer to make sure of this, but I believe that I do NOT have the auto leveling suspension on mine. I have looked all thru it, looked for the switch on the passenger side kick panel, looked for the compressor, hoses near the wheels...nothing. I am thinking that this was was ordered specifically without the system. Did not know it could come that way, especially being the Eddie Bauer model. Interesting.

Back to subject here, I plan to tow a 2-axle travel trailer, roughly 4500 to 5000 lbs assumably, I will be using the load leveling bars for the hitch, but I want to upgrade these lousy shocks as I believe they are the originals. So the question is, I would assume a good gas charged shock, but do they make a shock with a coil over that will handle these larger loads like this. Plus I really just want a better ride as these al four are shot with 130k on the rig.

If anyone has any info or suggestions it would help. Also, does anyone know of a way I can tell with the VIN to see if it does have the auto leveling, maybe I just missed something?!?!?!?

Thanks in advance

John
