:banghead: Hey guys, I know I'm new and a girl but am having some problems with knock sensors in my 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 HD. It has the 6.0L and need to know the in's and out's of replacing them. I took the truck to the dealership and it pulled the knock sensors up on the computer. I have to do repairs myself as I am a single mom and working. Thanks for all the input possible. They also said I probably needed to replace both of them, which I had planned on doing anyway. Thanks for all your help.

this problem is usually caused by engine washing....the sensors are not easy to get to and the intake will need be removed to access these parts... the wiring/connectors may also need replacing as this area with soap/water/road chemicals/mud[off roading], gets in under the intake..

I would find a person with the knowledge of this task to make repairs...start with a repair manual for your vehicle...then post back questions that need be answered..
