Been having a missing problem in what I believe is #5 cylinder (front on drivers side) I changed the plugs last week bc it sounded like it was missing, when I pulled the 5 cylinder I noticed the top part of the plug was coated in oil, don't think it made it to the bottom bc the threads but looked to be my problem. Is it the valve cover gasket leaking in that spot maybe?? My friend said something about gasket rings or something??? anybody have any ideas??? CEL is not on, and hasn't came on. Missing seems to be getting worse.

WOW, so many responses! just letting everyone know what I'm doin so it might help someone else out who might have this problem in time, I'm going to barely tighten the valve cover in the area that is leaking, being that is about the only thing it could be, just barely though, not so I break the bolt, then I'm going to run some Stop Leak - Gasket Expander through it, once it has ran for about a day going to take the plug out clean it up real good and put it back in and see how it does. Hope that fixes it!

Does it have the coil on plug ignition system or have plug wires?Could be bad plugwires if it has plugwires and the top of the line plugwires on these are not cheap. The #5 coil is bad if it has coil on plug ignition system
