I have a 2000 silverado 4wd and had the key switch replaced a week ago.
and now all it does is spin round and round, had another one installed now i can not put it into gear its like it stuck in park, I had it towed to a shop and they said the sensor had to be replaced because the guy that had installed the lock cyclender had went in by the shifter boot.the shop said it will cost me 500.00 to replace the sensor.is there any way of bypassing it or are they shooting me a load of B/S thanx for any help you can shed on this subject:screwy:

I never screwed with the shift selector....the cable to the tranny may need replacing...this may be the problem...neutral saftey switch/tranny cable issues...

why was the lock cylinder replaced ???break in...?

normally if the key is not turning correctly it needs a new key...

the ignition switch if replaced may have disturbed the tranny shift cable....

this sounds like B/S story and 500.oo is too high...

just what was the original problem...did the dealer or some repair shop hack this up ?

what is spinning round and round the key ?
