1997 Bonneville Transmission will work properly when Trans is cold, When trans warm up it will not move in drive or reverse.

Welcome to AF, if it is full then you have an internal failure, it has to come apart.

Likely this is the case. However, I have found that about a third of the time, problems such as this can be resolved by changing the transmission fluid and filter.

It is possible the transmission has been neglected and the filter is clogged by debris, preventing fluid flow (which is essential for the transmission to work.)

Before committing to a rebuild, remove the transmission pan. If the pan is simply full of debris and sediment, clean it out, replace the transmission filter (make sure the old O-ring comes out with the old filter) install a new filter and gasket with the pan, fill the trans with fluid, flush the cooler lines and try iyt out. If you are lucky, it will work.

BTW do not substitute a transmission 'flush'. They often do not help with this kind of problem.

Yes, this is a gamble, but for about $40-50 investment, you have a good shot at saving $1500 - 2000.
