No Cruise (97 Expedition)

The other day I noticed my Cruise Control no longer works. Is there a fuse for this? I'm looking at the fuse box diagram and it's not listed. Any other ideas what I should be looking for if it's not a fuse?

Ford never did put a fuse for the cruise control and take it to the dealer. It maybe covered under the recall.

What wafrederick is referring to is the cruise control deactivation switch that is located on the master cylinder. Click here and enter the information asked for (http://www.ford.com/owner-services/customer-support/recall-information). Does the horn work?? If it doesn't, look at the wiring on the cruise connection at pin 6 and 10. These are grounds. If they are not grounded good, the cruise will not work.

The horn works, and I had the recall work done a few years back. I'm really scratchin my head on this one.

There is a fuse for the cruise, but it also controls a few other things. So if everything else works, the fuse is OK. So that leaves wiring, clockspring, switches or the cruise servo motor.

Hi Dave,

The cruise control in my 1997 Expedition 2x4 also stopped working a few months ago .. I checked the multifunction fuse/relay under the dash, but the other functions still seem to work. I'm about ready to dive into the switch wiring as "way2old" has mentioned. Let me know if you have any success on your truck as well.

I found the problem and fixed it. It was the switch on the master cylinder. It had a little brake fluid on it, so I went to the dealership and bought a new one which came with the wiring harness. 22 bucks.

Thanks for posting back with the fix. Never figured the recall would have a bad part.
