Just wondering if i can purchase the pwr. window cable on its own instead of buying the whole system. I was told by my dealer that it was $650.00..burn job or what! All that is wrong is the tiny cable is broken. Any help would be great.

You should be able to pick one up in a junk yard for $25 or so. I don't believe that the cables are available as a separate part. It would be a bitch to try to restring one, I've done that before. Just my .02 cents worth:banghead:

You can buy a brand new regulator which comes with the cable for not much more than that.

Itd be a shame to spend money on a used cable, only to have to tear the thing apart again a year later because the factory regulator cracked to pieces.

Perhaps I should clarify my response, you can buy a used regulator for about $20 from the junkyard, did not mean to insinuate that you should replace the cable, it is not worth the time to re-string the cable! I was being sarcastic!:eek7:

from what i remember ..it did not seem that bad of a job getting the other cable off of there. It just winds around a spool ..does it not. The cable is the only thing wrong...the motor works fine. It would be nothing to make up a cable like this.Anyway....i thought i read somewhere that i could buy a cable seperate.

I think you can buy a front regulator assembly w/out a motor. When I was shopping on Ebay for one, in that flavor they were around 25 dollars.

I was in a similar boat, my rear window regulator had crapped out, but the motor was good. Couldnt find a rear one that didnt include a new motor though. It was about 40 dollars. Quality was so-so on the one I ordered, found out later it was a cheapy brand. It makes the window go up and down, but the tolerances are loose, you can move the window back and forth quite a lot. You wouldnt notice it if you dont have tinted windows, but I do, so I end up with a 1/3 inch strip of factory window glass around my tint after I roll the window down then up.
