My Z71 front axle seal is leaking, I think you can snap the axle out of the carrier.. Is there just a seal or do you have berings also? Its on the driver side.. I just dont know if its like other cars with CV axles...

well, you don't snap it.
you undo the center bolt on the hub, undo lower ball joint, so that you can swing hub away to the side, maybe upper one too, if necessary. 36mm socket.
then, you loosen the axle shaft and remove it from the hub. then, you undo drivexle-to-axleshaft flange bolts and pull driveaxle out. seal is right behind.
you'll need large socket to drive it back in. mallet or bronze hammer.

make darn sure you do not seperate CV joints. i'd recommend tying CV joint hubs together, with tape or something, over the boots. i had one separated once, was no fun. fun to drive,:naughty::evillol: not fun to redo.:headshake:headshake:headshake

any time, boss. it's easy job. socket is free rental, Shucks has what they call "front end socket kit". they have all sizes possible in it.

btw, some stick prybar between hub and studs to prevent hub from rotating.
well, as ...... as those trucks are made, i tilted studs right away. best bet is HD impact wrench. drive to closest tire shop, ask them to break nut loose for you just enough to drive back home on it and remove with hand tools.
