mrawl : thanks brother, it was actually learnt from one of the local modeler we have in HK. hopefully i have a good trial on it this time.

prortiz80, hrmodeler, gasdriverca : thanks brothers~

Entau : Yeh! this is very true as i can hardly find a perfect resolution for those injection marks. what i can do about them was just try to remove those that are in sight from the windows.... the rest are hiden or covered up with sth else....

Wow, awesome to see a build with New Zealand on it, you dont see to many of those, even in my part of the world, and I live in NZ!!!
Cool project & amazing detailing, i love the spolier, it was a shame that tamiya molded it as one piece, made it so hard to sand and to get it to look right.
Cant wait to see more

Nice choice of model! That Subaru was stunning in real life, was refreshing to see it in another colour! Haha.

You off to a great start and will watch for progress!

Hi Brothers,

some more updates.
I have just been awared that there is a bunch of wires around the rollcage right below the dashboard on the driver's side. I am trying to replicate this socket like thing.
The materials are simple, just part of a coke can and a few pieces of plastic sheet.
http://www.joeyko.com/diary/rossi_impreza_2006/20090528_1.jpg

Size and scales are not very accurate, but anyway, this just serves as a placeholder for my wiring work anyway.
http://www.joeyko.com/diary/rossi_impreza_2006/20090528_2.jpg

Done~
http://www.joeyko.com/diary/rossi_impreza_2006/20090528_3.jpg

On the other hand.....(actaully it is the other side of the cockpit, LOL)
I am so surpized that Hasegawa didn't provide decals for the fire extinguisher. So I have to paint the labels myself. It is a much easier work to do as I used Andrea water colors that I used to paint AFV figures.
http://www.joeyko.com/diary/rossi_impreza_2006/20090528_4.jpg

So after a half day of work, the cockpit is now almost completed.

Hi Brother, this is really fun sharing on AF! Really glad and hope you enjoy this progress~! My GF is now actually asking me to get to NZ on the coming winter.... :grinyes:
For the spoiler, I just get rid of the ending section and plug-in a 3mm dia. plastic tube so I can at least give some depth at the inside.... the original sucks....:banghead:

Excellent work
I really like the console with all the switches.

And the solution for the rear wing is just brilliant. Simple yet very effective.

Looking forward to the finished model !

Thanks brothers~!!
This kit has been paused as I move on with my M1 now but I guess some little CF work will be done and the final touch will be ready.

To MidMazar, I didn't do anything on the seat. I just have put on Gunze Flat Black and a little highlight with a couple drops of grey paint into the Black. Then I got a coat of Testor Flat coat over them.

Sorry but you misunderstood me. What i meant was, the blue seat belt material. What is it, is it from a company?

Thanks brother! The decals come from a Crezh brand, named Reji.

To kans0002
In fact, I do have a rough explaination about my own polishing process on my web site. But though, it is writen in Chinese and my eng version is yet to be complete as it is a too long passage for me in eng...>_<
For simplicity, my whole concept about polishing is simple, to make the surface as flat as possible.
When the lights are reflected in the right way, it creates a perfect shiny surface with no tricks at all.
the mean to create this very flat surface is the sanding job, from #1500 to #2000 Tamiya sand paper or anything equivalent.
When the surface is flatten or flat enough, the polishing job is down to the compound polishing. I personally prefer Modeler's Compound 2000 which does almost all the polishing work for me.
I sometimes also use Hasegawa's compound and wax for some work like this Impreza which is black in color.
In these compound polishing, the GUnze or Tamiya polishing cloth is essential as they give a nice back for the polishing efforts.
But in certain circumstances like this black surface, the fine scratches brough by the cloth are usually apperant and visible. And I will use my bare finger to do the compound polishing. Usually the scratches are removed.
These are some general ideas about my polishing process. Hope these help.

To MidMazar
Those are from Studio27~ Which is still in excellent condition~ though expensive price......>_<

Yeah, very nice and clean, lots of details, I just can agree to gio, a motivating and helpful thread.

Once again I want to point out the 4 stars rating for this model at the moment (average 3.5 stars from 2 ratings) - well, would the guys, who did not give 5 stars here, please write down, why not 5 stars ??? Or show some of their models?
