I have a 96 lx

I'm wondering how to take of the rear bumper..is it a hard job?

Real easy. If I remember right there are some nuts inside the car under the trim. I got rear ended last year and replaced the bumper myself (after getting a $600 insurance check!).

I've done in on my 1995LXs 2DR hatchback several times. It's easier than an oil change. There are muts that you have to remove from underneath the car and from inside the car after you remove that back panel. Expect the bolts that you remove from the outside to be really rusty. I replaced those outside nuts with stainless steel ones (and put stainless steel washers on them too). Might take you a whole half hour on your first time, maybe 10 minutes if you ever have to do it again. You can do it by yourself, but if you have someone else handy to help align things on the install that's better.

thanks guys..would i need a impact wrench to take them out or a regular socket with elbow grease is good enough?

A regular socket set works just fine.
