I just bought today 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 V8 with 130000 miles on it. The brake light and ABS light stays on. The front pads are a little low and I will change them, they are not down to the warning signal.
They brake pedal does feel a little spongy. Any ideas as to what to look for as the reason for the lights staying on.
Do not have any history on the truck as it was bought from a tow truck company that claimed it due to towing fees etc owed for 6 months as owner in jail.

Thanks

most times when both lights are on it is due to the rear speed sensor going bad. It is on top of the rear diff and the part costs about $40-50 at any local parts store or dealer. Easy to do yourself has one bolt and one electrical connection.
