Hi everybody,
while Iīm repainting the BMW 320 before applying the Jägermeister livery, I started to do some work on one of my first full-decal-builds. Back in the days I was a little rushing in the latter stages of the build. What Iīd like to do is to rework the following bits and pieces:
- redo the wax job on the body
- redo the front and back lights (apply BMF)
- redo the front grills
- add realistic rear bonnet lifter
- rework the left side mirror
- some minor work on the car
- add a windshield wiper
This what the car looks right now.

But most important, I will redo the gorgeous wheel-set. I painted the center flat back and the BBS-parts with TS-Gold. The center look nuts were re-attached (two pieces). I just recently found out about the golden center pieces by paging through a german car magzine and their stupid lottery.
This is what I have so far:

Iīm also thinking about applying a "used-in-race-scheme" by doing my first heavy wheathering job. But up to now I have no clue how to do that wihtout ruining the car. Maybe you guys have a hint. I promise to use the search function as well.

Nice car, be careful not to ruin it! How did you paint the spokes? They're molded into a solid disk right?

I usually donīt rework models, however, your new wheels look good. Where are they from?

Iīm very careful. Especially with the paint and decal job.
The spokes are an extra item (watch here http://www.scaleproduction.de/product_info.php?info=p980_BMW-M1-Aetzteile.html). I just put some greay metall primer on them and added a layer of pure white and two layers of TS-gold.

Itīs quite some time ago I bought the transkit. When I built this kit the first time I used a photetched set from scaleproduction and the BMW M1 LM 1980 transkit from renaissance. I canīt quite remember, whether the aluminium-wheels have been included in these kits or whether I bought them as a extra from one the above mentioned companies.
The reason, why I rebuild is that the wheels looked very unrealistic in my first approach. They showed the silver/aluminium background (see the third picture). This bothered me for quite awhile now. But just recently I found the eagerness to redo this. And while Iīm at it, I redo stuff I also didnīt like with the finished model.

Jup, but Iīd like to take any chances on this subject. While youīre asking...you donīt have a right side rear view mirror laying around that could fit. I trashed mine somewhere...
Thanks for your comments and questions. Iīll keep you guys updated.
Does anybody have any thoughts about the weathering issue??

I remember this build like it was yesterday. Out side pics are nice, its so weird how dark the blue becomes inside. Either way i love this livery and hope to build it in the future. Hope you rebuild it so that it makes you even happier.
