This will be a dual WIP thread showing off a few significant Sunoco Liveries from the past with a 30 year spread between the two cars..

First up: The awesome 1966 Penske/Sunoco L-88 Corvette.

Some real eye candy...... You just gotta love that Sunoco Blue and yellow combo no matter what its on, but a factory built L-88 427 fire breathing C2 Stingray makes it even better!!!!

I am using the Revell kit and building it with mild engine detail and a few interior corrections to make it more accurate and adding photoetch to both areas as well. Here is the body as per usual. Scalefinishes Sunoco Blue and yellow are in process with Dupont 2 part Chroma clear 7500S

A little polishing and this baby will be flawless!

Its 30 year younger brother will be the Ron Fellows driven 1996 Trans AM Camaro.

For the life of me I cannot find any real photos of this car which is shocking. If any of you have any float them my way!

The inaccurate diecast from GMP. ( I will put this thing to shame hopefully!) Notice in this picture the yellow looks like old school sunoco yellow like on the vette? Well that just will not do!!! >:(

The paint of choice on this one is again, Scalefinishes Sunoco Blue but for the yellow I went with Valspar Chartreuse. A Blindingly Glow in the dark (not really) Neon Yellow! This will match the decals perfectly and look awesome with the red neon bits on the sheet. Dont worry I will be doubling up the decals too!!

Body has been tapped off, painted and cleared with the usual Dupont 7500S. I will add decals and coat them with Micro scale Gloss. The real car I am sure was decal and not cleared but who knows..

Does it hurt your eyes? :) More to come on these soon!

So nice! I have to admit I was kind of excited when I thought I saw a paint flaw, I thought oh my god he's human!, then I realized they were just raised sections where the flag emblems go lol.

HAHA, just like me ....

Great job, Dave, how about the raised sections for the flag emblems, do you have a P/E part for that areas ?
