Hi Guys,

I've been doing models for a year now, but my work, though slowly improving, is not even CLOSE to what you professionals are doing, but I thought that this is my second race car built ever, i thought i'll post a WIP to get some feedback on how to make it better for the future.

Thanks for looking, and inputs are more than welcome.

You're off to a good start! I've got this one in my stash of to do models, just trying to get my skills correct so I can open it all up and do it right! Good luck!

So this weekend I had some more time to work on the model, and finally got around to finishing the engine bay. It's quite detailed actually, and overall (though still not perfect) i am quite happy with the results.

I've also FINALLY mastered the black window mask technique without bleeding through so now i just hope i dont mess up this build when i paint the body.

Enjoy.

Keep up the good work, the more you build and experiment, the better your builds will become. One trick in painting windows is mask them and put a light coat of clear on first. Let dry and paint over with your prefered black. The clear prevent the black from bleeding underneath, and always burnish the tape edges with either your finger nails or a toothpick.

Keep us updated.

Rub smooth. Take your finger and rub the material until it is smooth and without any air bubbles.

With metal foil you would use a clean paint brush and smooth the foil by going over it with pressure of the bristles.

That's actually a pretty good tip about the clear coat first. I usually use a pencil erasier on Tamiya tape to rub it in. The other thing that help is to actually spray it lightly with something fast drying like Testor black. Usually trying to brush it always is disasterous

for those that have this kit built, i cannot find MS-3 red anywhere, is there another substitute for it?
