1996 chevy lumina 3.1 carhazeleyesw89 04-19-2009, 11:57 PM ok it all started when i came around the corner to my house.the oil light came on and car was erratic never showed any signs of trouble.bought an obd2 tester came back w/code po300 so we changed the coils, wires, plugs, and control module and new battery.now for some reason the car will not keep a charge and when we try to start it all it does is make a clicking sound so we took off the starter and alternator and both checked out good .have any ideas what could be draining battery and keeping the car from starting.have read alot about the passlock2 anti theft but not sure if that would be it.and can't get any codes anymore cause car won't start.getting very upset here single mom running out of money and options .:banghead::banghead::wtf:if it is the passlock2 anti theft how do i reset it without taking to a dealer and spending $300-400 on this maxwedge 04-20-2009, 01:59 PM Welcome to AF, are you geting 12v to the starter solenoid on cranking, does the security lite on the dash stay on when this occurs? hazeleyesw89 04-20-2009, 03:19 PM security light comes then goes out within 3 seconds .solenoid was good cause it shocked people at autozone.was that what u mean maxwedge 04-20-2009, 05:23 PM No, does it have 12v at the start wire on the solenoid when in the crank position, trying to start it? These are basic checks for a no crank condition. This advice is based on the assumption the battery is fully charged and the cables and connections are clean and tight. hazeleyesw89 04-20-2009, 07:04 PM yes and the dash light stays on maxwedge 04-20-2009, 08:08 PM If the security lite stays on you cannot start the car, this is an issue with the PassKey system, could be broken wires in the ign switch or an issue with the relay or theft deterrent module. hazeleyesw89 04-21-2009, 11:36 AM so should i buy the anti theft relay 1st then work myself to the expensevie stuff?or see if it can be reset one place here said for 80.00 the can reset maxwedge 04-21-2009, 07:47 PM You could try the by pass as described on this site, do a site search for Passkey bypass. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
