'86 DL wagon, carb part identificationhaybaker 04-18-2009, 10:08 AM I have the 2 bbl Hitachi carb, which has a fast idle problem. Driving normally, depress clutch like for a stop or turn, and engine races, maybe 2000 RPM for longer than I care to listen to it. If I tap the accelerator a couple times it comes down to normal. There was this vacuum actuator on the right (drivers side) rear of the carb. mounted by a spring clip and no mechanical function. 2 hoses, one was broke off with actuator nipple piece and could not be reattached. I removed the actuator, and capped the 2 vacuum ports the hoses were attached to. So my question is, what is that actuator called and is its removal responsible for the fast idle? Thanks! somick 04-20-2009, 02:56 PM I unfortunately drive spfi. See if you can find something at www.ultimatesubaru.org.
