Hey guys, I have a 2000 Taurus 3.0. Its the Overhead Valve motor non flex fuel with ABS. The transmission is an AX4N. I had 9 codes all of a sudden and the car was stuck in 1 gear. I brought it home and had the following codes.

P0743
P0750
P0755
P0760
P1451
P0135
P0141
P0155
P0161

The car went from no codes and driving fine to having 9 codes and stuck in gear while i was driving it. Well most of those coded are trans related so I decided to put a trans in. I cleared the codes with a sanp on solus computer and disconnected the battery for the job. I switched the trans with a 40K trans from a parts yard that has been tested, capped off and guaranteed with warranty as a good trans through the yard I purchased it from. Got everything back together, started the car up and within a few minutes I have the exact same 9 codes and flashing Trans light as I had before. I take the car for a ride and it is still in 1 gear.

Is it possible its the computer and not the trans? Usually when the computer goes out you see some sort of communication error on the scanner. Thanks for all your help - JT

When you say the car is stuck in first, does it not shift to park, neutral, or reverse, or it just doesn't shift out of first gear when in Drive? Have you inspected the wiring for the transmission and the various speed sensors? Do you have access to a service manual for your car so you can check the Possible Causes for the transmission codes to see if there is a possible cause common to all your transmission codes?

When I say stuck in First, i mean it does not shift while driving. We inspected all wiring for the trans. Unfortunately i do not have access to any info system to check possible causes for all codes. Most codes are for trans but I also have 2 O2 sensor codes. Just seems weird event with a new trans i have the exact 9 codes again. - JT

I have the 2002 Factory Service Manual. I might have some time this evening to look up the codes.

As a place to start, you need to check all the wiring. All the codes for the transmission are for circuit problems.
P0743
P0750
P0755
P0760

The Other P0 codes are for O2 heater codes and trhe P14 code is for Lack Of Response From Passive Anti-Theft System Module, Engine Disabled
