anyone know how i can stop my squeaky fan belt?

Try belt dressing. You can get it at any local parts store.

Get a new one.

or spray on a little WD40.

If option 2 doesn't work the try tightening the belt.

Is option 3 doesn't work then buy a new belt.

Mine squealed when I turned on the A/C. Started after I replaced belt with a Goodyear Gatorback belt that has diagonal grooves. Replaced with plain belt and squeal went away.

my a/c went on my jimmy about 9 mos. ago finally went to fix it 3 weeks ago(compressor) ,,replaced comprssr. and all the other goods..got it recharged ..blew cold...thought great i fixed it....then it started chirping..the garage couldnt figure it out so i started replacing the tensioner the idler..........hoping it wasnt the new comprssr.clutch bearing...(comprssor i got off ebay)...si i went to autozone bought a remnufactured comprssr......installed it ......got that one recharged ..blew cold...then more chirping...so it wasnt anything that i had replaced.................but i had replaced the serpintine 3000 miles ago....(goodyear gatorback)...so i went and got a new cheap one..and low and behold the chirping went away.....thanx to the new $300..belt....................anyone need a stock comprssr w/ only 8k miles on it?for a 4.3 ltr vortec.........barnicle0@yahoo.com
