you can unhook the sensor. what it'll cause as a result, I can only guess. I know, on Mitsubishes, cruise control seizes working if you do so.

It is illegal to do things like that.:nono:
And if you do it will mess up a lot of stuff.
Best to leave it be.

the odometer on these vehicles can not be disabled...
the usual thing that occurs is,, vehicle dealer's electronicly roll back the mileage....this is very common problem....and is illegal.....

the speed sensor signal goes to a multitude of computer controlled devices that provide correct vehicle operation...
brakes transmission engine operation...

I wouldnt unhook it as stated it is illegal, but as for it running all kinds of things, It works fine without it. I had to replace my gauge cluster and was without it for a couple of days, used the gps on my laptop and the obdii to keep track of the fuel, volts temp, gps for speed. When I got the new gauge cluster there where no codes thrown, would have seen them anyways with the obdii. You have 2 choices when you put a new gauge cluster in you can have it programmed with your trucks info or there is a sticker you put in the door that says the odometer was changed and you are required to disclose this when it is sold or you could be in trouble for falsifing the mileage. I even called dmv here in ohio to make sure about the sticker.
